there are losses, and then there are losses like the kind endured this past saturday. the loss of a true superstar who meant as much to penn state as anyone in the past 20 years. the loss of an undefeated record. and more importantly, a loss to michigan...again. and a loss to michigan under the specter of controvesy...again.
while there are a multitude of things that were horribly flawed about this game, there is plenty to help keep the heads of the nittany lion faithful held high. in years past the lions would have folded and withered at any number of points, but yet this year they showed more heart and determination than we have seen in the past several seasons combined. leaders stepped up (can i get an amen for mRob and tony hunt?) and unproven players made a much needed mark.
we can dwell on this loss and let it ruin what has become a wonderful season or we can root on this team as they attempt to rid themselves of the stigma that losing has saddled them with over the last 5 years. i for one am going to remain optimistic and root like hell that we can take another step towards a big ten title and a new years day bowl.
