the constant gardner

anyone in search of a worthwhile activity to occupy just over 2 hours could do worse than watching the constant gardener. aside from the impressive acting on display the message/theme is one that should resonate for some time after viewing the film. the film's theme of multi-national business exploiting underprivileged masses in one that is pertinent, troubling, and in desperate need of attention. i have no answers, and neither does the director, but providing a discourse is a good start. if social commentary is not your cup of tea, just watch it for fernando meirelles's (city of god) brilliant visual style. watch the trailer here.
