hot in here
although not quite the mind-bending existential thought that raced through my head yesterday, i have recently been troubled by (thanks village voice) a reoccurring realization that we are totally destroying the world (i.e. eco-system) that we inhabit. i know what your thinking, robb has been watching too many of his boy, al gore's, documentaries., however i can assure you that i am troubled by more than some slide shows committed to celluloid. as we sit and watch the man-made hell that is over-developed california struggle with brushfires and blackouts, one can easily see this shaping up to be the meta-crisis of our generation. we can only hope that someone in a position of true influence will step into the total void that has been the bush whitehouse's environmental policy.
bbc/discovery channel documentary on the global warming crisis
hope springs eternal from scandanavia
(oil-free zone; have to love the sound of that)

Although I am obviously not in a position of true influence, I hope it gives you some peace of mind knowing that I am working on this problem in small leaps and bounds. I am working on a project that converts southern pine into ethanol (which can reduce our use of oil). This process can actually reduce CO2 concentrations. Also, if Southern Company ever builds the offshore wind farm we are designing, it would help to offset carbon emissions as well.
Just doing my part...
I love your website. It has a lot of great pictures and is very informative.
