being an olympic junkie, one finds themselves coming into possession of some pretty random information every two years. this evening, i was alerted to a fellow nittany lion, allison baver, competing in the games as a short track skater only several years removed from her days as a cheerleader at dear old state. while she performed admirably and seems like an all-around swell young lady, she did not medal. maybe her boy toy, apolo anton ohno can comfort her when he is not mugging for his adoring public (aka nbc).

as far as olympics couples go, they are playing second fiddle to my new favorite thing about the '06 games...neve and gliz. what the hell, i ask, do these two have to do with the spirit of the italian olympic event? i have no idea, but what i do know is that these feisty italian lovers could totally rock hidy and howdy's canadian world.
