proceed with caution

several months ago, ash and i made our way down to our local arthouse cinema to watch a new film by director carlos reygadas entitled, battle in heaven. the reason that i am mentioning this so long after having seen the movie is two-fold. first, because the dvd is being released this week and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging film. secondly as it has taken me this long to recover from it. without spoiling the film for anyone, it is extremely hard to digest at times and it deals with subject matter that is not often discussed as frankly as it is in this film.
