try as i might, i have never been able to fully appreciate the art form that is jazz. don't get me wrong, i have tried repeatedly to become more familiar with it, i guess it is the need to find symmetry in the music that has always thrown me off the trail. however, i may be turning the corner, as passion and i went to scandinavian house to see norwegian jazz guitarist lage lund last evening. a few song into the set i found myself appreciating the flow of the music, enjoying the spontaneity. we shall see where this takes us...maybe a soul patch and gauloise cigarettes are in my future.
