f*%k 'lazy sunday'

have ya heard about the short film that ran on saturday night live a couple of weeks ago that has become a social phenomenon? it revolves around two cast members making preparations to go and see the movie the chronicles of narnia. over some classic, early 90s beats they rap about finding out when and where the movie is playing, get cupcakes and snacks to sneak into the theater, and how they guessed the movie trivia question that runs before the film. this is apparently so awesome that it has spun it's own cottage industry, complete with today show exposes, itunes downloads, and t-shirts. check it out!

yo that is awesome...suburban, white guys lampooning the hyper-sexualized, violent world of rap. i swear, the world has never witnessed comic genius like this to date. seriously, aren't we past the point that this kind of subtle racism is no longer funny? i mean this garbage isn't even funny, sociological concerns aside.

besides if we want to see white man making a mockery of rap and using cool rap vernacular, we will just wait until our man patrick swazye's joint hits the streets.

What white urban guys can't rap about issues affecting white urban guys? At least they're keeping it real. If Clapton can sing the blues about his kid falling outta window because his nanny was careless, then surely two white guys can rap about using mapquest. Seriously not all white guys rapping can be Eminem, or Beck for that matter.

they can rap all they want for all i care, but i just don't want to have to see it and read about it's brilliance on every gd webpage. and as fer clapton...i would have blogged about his white man blues as well had i not been hammering away in dos on an apple 2e in 91.
